News: Pudong is Building a Massive Seaside Country Park

Feast your eyes on this. Pudong is building a massive seaside ecology park and resort that, upon completion, will cover an estimated total area of 24.9 square kilometers, which translates to roughly the size of 3,500 standard football fields.

The Heqing Country Park will be located east of the Ring Expressway, bordering the East China Sea. It will sit directly opposite the Shanghai Jiuduansha Wetlands Reserve, adjacent to Pudong International Airport.

The park will be divided into a couple of key zones that include a sports vacation village and a tourism and leisure center. There will be boutique and luxury hotels, restaurants and cafes, and will hold an area that is specially dedicated to water activities like canoeing and sailing. It will also be equipped to host large-scale events like international sports competitions and music festivals.
